In the fall of 2012, Dr. Brock and Pastor Kan’Dace moved from San Antonio, Texas to serve a church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. God did some amazing things there, and their impact was felt across the state of Michigan. However, in the fall of 2014, they knew their assignment was complete. God called them to move back home to San Antonio. Shortly after their arrival, they had the honor of serving as co-pastors of the Joint Base San Antonio Lackland Gospel Service. During this three-year period, they began to feel the Holy Spirit prompting them to start a God-honoring church in San Antonio, a community of Christ-followers who would be real, relevant, and relational.
Believing in the spiritual disciplines of fasting and prayer, Dr. Brock and Pastor Kan’Dace spent 2015 doing exactly that. They then met with their pastoral mentors and reached out to church planting organizations who would give them the professional coaching and training needed to start a growing church. They wanted to be prepared to launch a church with the capability of making a major Kingdom impact in San Antonio, Texas and beyond.
