The bright and the dark years of childhood, the period at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, the years in Paris and in the village of Grez-sur-Loing where Carl proposed. Then back to Stockholm and Gothenburg before they finally settled down for good in Lilla Hyttnäs in Sundborn with their seven children and a life full of art, gardening and self-sufficiency.

This little newsreel from 1916 brings the Larsson family to life again. You will meet them at various events. A cart with guests rolls into the courtyard and they sit down for lunch in the garden. Carl draws, rows out with his grandchildren and visits the church with Suzanne and her husband. The terrible spring flood rushes into the garden over the courtyard where Carl waves and rows in with his boat.
