WJHM 102 Jamz in Orlando was technically started over 70 years ago as a sister station to album heavy and rock hits station.
The call letters became WJHM in Spring 1988, when it was revamped to play urban music, reaching a universal audience just as the hip hop and similar genres were crossing over on the airwaves. It became a platform for the community to call in and respond to local and national topics and issues, not just top 40 hits.
