About TheMarketplaceatArdmoreOnline
Welcome to our new venture – The Marketplace Online. To our repeat consignors, good to see you again. For those new to our website, here’s a little background. During tough economic times in 1983, I produced my first horse sale with my good friend Vic Clark in Columbus, Ohio. That initial sale was a great learning experience, and I got up to speed quickly on how to market horses at public auction. After moving to Texas, I began one of the first Ranch Horse Sales in Vernon. A few years later I relocated to Oklahoma, and started the semi-annual Ardmore Horse Sale which has operated continuously for 28 years. In Oklahoma, I also managed Polo Ranch, a great breeding farm standing Grays Starlight and Rooster. While I enjoyed the breeding business, my main interest was always marketing horses. Yes, that’s right… I am a horse trader. With an online auction, our primary concern is making sellers comfortable consigning with us and buyers confident with their purchases. Even though this sale is online, we will try and replicate the in-person auction experience by providing the buyer as much information as possible including good photos, videos and x-rays (when possible). Plus, we give the buyer direct access to the consignor to get firsthand information about the sale horse. The sale catalog will be posted online the week of the sale.
