A Women’s Guide to Healthcare NY provides a listing of health services available to women and children in New York State, including families of low-income. The healthcare services listed are provided at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)[which do not provide abortion.] FQHCs accept Medicaid and Medicare, offer health insurance support, including assistance with health insurance applications. FQHCs offer language translation services upon request. Free pregnancy testing, walk-in appointments, weekend and evening hours may be available. Healthcare services offered may also include OB/GYN exams, birth control including natural family planning, STD/HIV testing, cancer screenings, breast exams, mammograms, prenatal and postpartum care, ultrasounds, nutritional counseling, family medicine, pediatrics, substance abuse assessments and referrals for treatment and counseling for depression, anxiety, trauma and domestic violence.
