About EMA NHS

PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED A EMA NHS ACCOUNT TO ACCESS THIS APP. YOU CAN GET IT FOR FREE FROM YOUR NEAREST GOVERNMENT CCG ( CLINICAL COMMISSIONING GROUP )

EMA is an AI-based application that works as a platform to assist patients suffering from back pain, and for clinicians treating them to provide care remotely. EMA is developed for the assistance of all patients of the National Health Services (NHS) UK. The features include exercise video libraries, exercise monitoring, and performance reports. EMA is fully GDPR/DSP compliant and is a cost-effective way to manage back pain and maintain proper posture. This Empowering Medical App seeks to enhance care for patients, and speed up the care that HCPs provide, moving the whole process forward more efficiently. EMA is a robust ecosystem, linking sufferers and carers end-to-end.

EMA enables better interaction between the patient and clinician. The confidence the patient feels when the clinician is monitoring their progress will motivate them to invest in the outcome. The clinician can monitor such progress remotely, with minimal invasion, yet with accuracy.

The patient receives the guidance required to do exercises in the right way, at the correct time, and to the correct extent thus ensuring outcomes are measured. The clinician has the facility to call the patient if any issues are noticed, and the patient’s exercise performance can be assessed on the clinician’s dashboard, including a percentage of accuracy so that the clinician can give evidence-based care.

EMA also works towards reduction in patients being given opioid analgesics, as pain can be managed well if patients do the recommended exercises regularly, thereby strengthening their back and maintaining proper posture.

EMA is equipped with features to reduce:

• acute pain episodes from becoming chronic pain episodes
• chronic pain episodes requiring medication that leads to dependency
• further psychological and physical ill-health and long-term reduction in productivity within society as a whole are immeasurable.
