Cleft Care Companion app users will:
• Learn about cleft lip and palate
• Learn about cleft treatments
• Follow a timeline of recommended age-specific cleft care
• Find Smile Train supported treatment centers, providing free cleft care in 70+ countries
• Record encounters with people with cleft and guide the potential patients through different stages of cleft care (enabled for registered users)
Smile Train is the world’s largest cleft-focused charity with a sustainable model of sponsoring free cleft treatment from local healthcare professionals. Since our founding in 1999, we have:
• Helped 1.6 million+ patients
• Sponsored care in 90+ lower- and middle-income countries
• Worked with 2,100 local medical professionals
• Partnered with 1,100 local hospitals
Smile Train partners with local treatment centers and local medical professionals around the world so that cleft care is available to patients in their own communities. Smile Train covers the full cost of surgical treatments and some of the additional cleft treatments, such as nutrition or speech services, for patients who could not otherwise afford them.
