DivotPro SE provides a useful calculator for free for golf world handicap system playing handicap calculation. Beyond that additional functionality is available for a small annual subscription.
The app has a facility for calculating handicaps for group and team formats. For this to work venues must be defined with the official rating for each tee. To get you started there is a default venue. This will allow you to explore the functionality but you will need to define the venues you play at to use it in anger. The first level of subscription allows you to set up one venue with up to six tees (to use the app for calculations at your home club). This will also make tables of the differentials for each tee so you can see for each score the resulting differential that will go into playing record.
The next level of subscription allows unlimited venues to be created. So if you play at more than one club this may be the subscription for you.
With either of these subscriptions you can take a look at the playing history function. In demo mode a random playing record is created which you can edit or add to. Take a look at the Status Analysis option (on the menu top right) and you will see the insight you can have into where your handicap is headed next and what you need to score to get it down. You may need to increase the number of scores to see the best picture. Tap sections of the analysis to see a relevant chart. To see this for your own handicap you need to have our top subscription and enter your playing record to date. Don't worry if you have played lots of rounds. The quick record option makes fast work of capturing the minimum information required.
WHS is slightly different in different countries. The app will detect what version of whs to apply based on the country your phone is configured for. In the full app you can change to follow local rules when visiting another area.
