Conclave: Dissension - A card players review.
I’ve been playing and collecting cards for the last 25 years and played competitively for 10. I’ve played a lot of card games both physical and digital and Conclave: Dissension is an absolute gem. The progression system is the best kind, all of the cards can be acquired by simply playing the game and doesn’t feel like a tedious grind that takes too long. The game excels in game play, it plays exactly like a traditional card game. The game encourages deck building, there’s plenty of cards to be able to build decks with. It doesn’t feel hollow and you can tell a lot of time has gone into creating a wide variety of cards. The 5 starter decks all have unique play styles that are really fun to use, by playing all of them you really get a sense of the fun things you can do in the game. The game is also ad free which is such a refreshing experience to have a fun and free game that isn’t bogged down with ads, allowing you to spend your time enjoying the experience of playing the game. The developer is very engaging with the community and bugs or other potential issues are fixed quickly. Updates are quality as well, always adding to enhance the experience rather than making you say why would you waste you time working on that, a problem common with a lot of mobile games. Overall I couldn’t speak more positively about the game, as the negative things about the game have been minor and are usually in the process of being addressed cause they’re the type of things that come along with being a new game and the process of getting it right. In terms of offering a traditional card game experience, I don’t know that there’s a better offering on mobile. The game is new and doesn’t try to live outside itself with flashy animations or cutscenes during gameplay. It feels exactly like playing the card game you fell in love with as a kid again for the first time.
