The Traffic Light Assistant Hamburg provides phase and forecast information about traffic lights in the city center of Hamburg.
The Traffic Light Assistant is a location and map-based service. The service determines the traffic light systems relevant to the user based on the position of the user and his driving direction and provides signal phase information and a forecast of the next change of phase of the traffic light. The service can be configured as driving a car, e-scooter, bicycle, or truck, to indicate the driver the appropriate speed level. By providing the traffic light data in advance the app will support a more relaxed driving behavior and can positively influence the traffic flow. Furthermore, an additional collision warning function is integrated. It calculates possible future collisions of road users based on the position and trajectories of several users in a so-called accident hotspot (e.g. at an intersection). Road users are warned in good time before the collision with other road users will happen or notified of unavoidable collisions with an emergency warning.
