Hi! I’m Nicki. If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you love and/or work in home design and styling. I love it too. I always have and I always will. Heir Looms was born from that passion as well as a constantly evolving personal style. Rugs have always been a big part of styling, often the first part. I’ve come to realize that a rug is just a rug until you put it in a room and enjoy the creative ride. These treasures can be absolutely transformational to space and often inspire a whole series of ideas and changes.
In collecting rugs for my own home over the last 10 years, I’ve learned to appreciate them not only as decorative items but as cultural artifacts. I consider myself to be well researched and knowledgeable but I will never claim to be an expert. I am always learning.
All of the rugs on my site are either hand knotted or hand woven. If I list a rug as vintage, that means that it is 50 to 70 years old. If I list it as antique, it is closer to 80 or 100 years, sometimes older. My online collection consists of Persian and Turkish rugs but I also carry a small inventory of vintage Moroccan rugs in my Palm Beach shop, courtesy of my friend Becca Loyer of June + Blue. I welcome appointments to visit the Palm Street shop where you can see the rugs and our other items (pillows, art, pottery and coffee table books) in person. While most of our rugs are online, there are some that have not been listed. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, please contact me and I may have it!
Outside of dealing rugs, I am a wife to a loving and supportive husband and a mom to two girls. I was born and raised in Jupiter, Florida but my forever home is West Palm Beach.
It is an honor to be a part of your home and I am so grateful for your interest in my shop. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need guidance on selecting the perfect rug for your space. I welcome custom sourcing inquiries and will ship rugs on approval for select designers.
Thank you for reading, browsing and shopping!
