The strenuous work, heavy and encapsulating PPE, stressful fire environment, and high adrenaline levels lead to significant physiological strain during firefighting. Firefighters are 14 times more likely to suffer a sudden cardiac event (SCE) in response to an alarm, and 136 times more likely to suffer a fatal SCE after firefighting than non emergency duties. This highlights the need for real-time monitoring of firefighters' physiological data. This Artificial Intelligence-based mobile application monitors the physiological data of firefighters using personal wireless wearable health trackers, evaluates the cardiovascular risk factors for firefighters, and alerts the firefighter about impending risks.
The app receives data from smart watches such as Fitbit, Garmin or from Google fit and Apple Healthkit once the required permissions are provided and uses the data to monitor the health conditions of the user.
