1. Formation and development
Stemming from the demand for staff in the economic and international business fields of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces in the period of international economic integration, Campus II of Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City (hereinafter referred to as Facility II) was established under Decision No. 1485/GD-DT dated July 16, 1993 of the Minister of Education and Training.
After 28 years of development, Campus II has continuously improved the quality of training, scientific research and expanded cooperation with the business community and international partners, gradually affirming its position as a center training high-quality human resources in the fields of economics, international business, business administration, finance - banking for the southern region; contributing to the implementation of the University's development goals: training high-quality human resources; creating and transferring scientific knowledge to meet the requirements of the industrialization and modernization of the country; develop learning capacity, scientific research, practice working skills in a modern international environment for learners.
2.Facilities
In the first time, because it did not have its own facilities for teaching and learning, Campus II rented the facilities of the College of Foreign Economic Relations. Despite many difficulties and shortages, with the outstanding efforts of the staff, teachers and students, Campus II has always successfully completed the assigned tasks.
With the attention of the School Board of Directors and agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City, Campus II has acquired new facilities for teaching and learning at 15, D5 street, ward 25, Binh Thanh district, City. Ho Chi Minh. With an area of nearly 5,000 m2, the current facilities basically meet the needs of teaching and learning in the present time. Many other classrooms and function rooms are equipped with modern teaching equipment.
3. Organizational structure and staff, teachers
With the increasing scale of training, Campus II has rapidly consolidated its organizational structure and staff and teachers. Currently, Campus II has nearly 180 full-time staff and teachers working in 11 departments (Planning – Finance, Training Management, Political & Student Affairs, Organization – Administration, Management). Administration - Equipment, Information -Library, Scientific Management - International Cooperation, Communication and External Relations, International Training, Testing - Quality Assurance, Party Work - Trade Union) and 04 Subjects (Basic – Basic, Professional, English, Japanese).
In order to improve the quality of training, Campus II has also established two affiliated centers: the Center for International Trade Consulting and the Center for International Education Consulting.
4. Training work
Currently, Campus II is training about 4,000 students and students of all types of training, of which more than 3,900 are full-time students and more than 170 graduate students.
Since its establishment until now, Campus II has grown from single-disciplinary training to multi-disciplinary training with many different specialties and training levels.
