Hatching Hope Initiative storyteller is a series of talking-comics designed in local languages (Odia and Hindi) to educate rural communities living in Odisha. Rural Poultry farming is identified as a key source of income across many developing countries including India that provides livelihood security to the family in addition to securing the availability of food. India has currently a population of 1.33 billion which is expected to reach 1.65 billion by 2050. The country ranks 100th out of 119 countries on the Global Hunger Index. Even with the massive scale-up of national nutrition-focused programs in India, drought and structural deficiencies have left a significant number of the poor in India vulnerable to malnourishment, as reported by the International Food Policy Research Institute in 2017.
