This app is for participants in the Northwell Activate study by Northwell. In this research study, we would like to investigate the feasibility of using wearable consumer activity trackers that passively collect health and activity data among patients with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heart rhythm) with and without behavioral health disorders. This study has been reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board.
This app will serve as a hub for study participation. Using this app, you can track your study progress, complete surveys, and connect your watch. We expect that using the app for the study will take about 5 minutes daily. Participation in the study will last for 12 weeks.
Those who own an Apple Watch and prefer to use their Apple Watch instead of a Garmin or Fitbit device will be able to connect their Apple Health app.
From the Apple Health app we will be able to pull your Apple Watch data including: your heart rate and pulse, your breathing rate, your sleep stages and quality, your body temperature, activity, inactivity and sedentary time. Your Apple Health app data, if you choose to share it with us, will be coded and included in the study dataset.
