Hopeful but Disappointed
I’m reluctant to leave a critical review of this app, as I was excited to learn about StandFast and eager to have access to the amazing body of work from Dr George Grant. The good news is that the app is attractively designed and the subscription fee is fairly priced. Unfortunately, it appears to have a long way to go. First and foremost, Keystones are not yet available; instead, there is only a brief video of Dr Grant describing keystones (a huge disappointment for me, as it’s why I purchased the subscription). Secondly, playing videos and/or audio files is buggy, depending on your type of phone. I have two iPhones (X and 10) and an iPad. The media files do not even show up on the iPhone 10, while they do play on the other two devices. However, in every case, the files playback only when the app window is open and active. In other words, audio files won’t play in the background, which means I can’t use it while working out, running, or simultaneously using my phone in any other way. Thirdly, navigation is not intuitive or current. For example, if I select a particular course within the humanities module, I cannot backup to the previous screen; so if I choose the wrong course, I have to go back to the main menu and work my way to the list to try again. Little things like these make the app feel really outdated, even though it’s new. Lastly, I’m disappointed to have never heard back from support after leaving an email request a week ago. All in all, I’d normally leave two stars for an experience like this with any other app, but I’m throwing in a bonus star in hopes that Dr Grant’s team can get quickly on the front side of these issues. ~Hopeful

I’m very excited about this app because I’m passionate about the ministry blessings I’ve received from years of Dr. G’s teaching and writing. I will be glad to have so many of his resources at my fingertips in such an organized way.
