When the Outside Air Temperature (OAT) falls below the International Standard Atmosphere (ISA), the aircraft's true altitude is lower than the indicated altitude. Extremely low temperatures can pose a terrain hazard and lead to altitude or position errors. To mitigate these effects, adjustments must be made to the heights above the airport elevation by either raising obstacle heights or adjusting published altitudes/heights. This App assists pilots in making these corrections using the ICAO Cold Weather Temperature Correction table or using the engineering equations, following the guidelines of PANS-OPS.
