For the first time, the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and the Hilti Art Foundation are presenting a jointly conceived and integrative exhibition curated by Christiane Meyer-Stoll, Letizia Ragaglia and Uwe Wieczorek.
The focus is on photographs by Candida Höfer, which she took especially for this exhibition. She photographed her subjects mainly with a large-format digital camera at locations in Liechtenstein: interior and exterior views of museum architecture, libraries or depot rooms that serve cultural purposes in both a narrow and a broader sense. In this way, they join the groups of motifs for which Höfer has become known. Selected works of art from both collections will be presented in dialogue with her photographs.
The renowned artist Candida Höfer (* 1944), who belongs to the Düsseldorf "Becher School", has already realised site-specific groups of pictures several times, for example in Brussels or Düsseldorf. Her series created in and for Liechtenstein is in this tradition.
Starting with Candida Höfer's photographs, the app guides visitors through the seven exhibition rooms and provides information on thirty works from the collection. All works discussed are marked with an audio symbol on the floor. Please dial the number on the keyboard.
