Binter (Biomass INTERmediates) is an interactive platform for mobilizing biomass resources. A smart phone application tool where farmers declare their available biomass by automatically uploading it in a database, collectors/transporters then organize the logistics towards collection of the desired biomass types and finally end users declare their preferences.
The process for someone to become a member is simple:
1. Registration (accepts the terms of use) by entering the personal data (name/lastname, phone and e-mail).
2. Selects the user category (farmer, collector/transporter, end-user).
The application is ready for use!
Farmers can declare the available biomass in a very quick and easy way:
1. Stands in the middle of the field (to get the coordinates).
2. "Take a photo" - Real photo of the field required!
3. Fill the data of the new entry (area, type of biomass, availability).
4. "Submit".
5. Available biomass registered!
Collectors/transporters can follow changes in biomass availability via a map and book the one they are interested in!
End-users can declare their preferences in biomass (types, quantities (tn), time period) and follow the changes in biomass availability.
The conception, the design and the management of the application, as well as the binter database, belongs to the Chemical Processes and Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), and implemented by the technical assistance of Comitech S.A.
The application is available in App Store for free, in the context of implementation and dissemination of research projects.
