Leap Dash offers a total of 3 game modes to play, all with their own unique styles!
Dash, the original game mode, plays similarly to a "bullet-hell" style of gameplay, in which the player must attempt to dodge raining gray blocks, but can "leap" the appearing pink gems. Once 5 five of the pink gems have been leaped, the player will be able to utilize their Meter (located bottom left of the screen) and gain the ability for a significant speed boost & damage invincibility for a short period, earning even more points in this period! The player will also need to be wary for various Hazardous Events, signified by a blinking, red exclamation mark, which, once completed, will reward the player with a pink gem and add an extra layer of difficulty to this progressively fast game mode!
Slash, the second game mode, offers a more reactionary style of gameplay, in which the player must be quick to react to both gray blocks and pink gems that stride along the alleyway of the Dojo! Slash the pink gems and dodge the gray blocks! Similarly to Dash, the player must also be wary of various Hazardous Events, signified by a gray film, that may impede the player's progress. Unlike Dash, however, the player can only gain Meter by successfully triumphing over each Hazardous Event. Be sure to fill your meter as best as you are able, as it will allow you to perform a Super Slash! A Super Slash, if performed on a pink gem, will reward the player with 2 bars of Meter! A Super Slash may also be performed on a gray block, and will result in healing the player by 1 heart! Be mindful of the increasing pace of Slash as you progress, as it may certainly challenge your reaction time!
Lastly, Flash is a more puzzle-oriented style of gameplay, in which the player must keep a close-eye on the individual pink gem, which is positioned among an array of gray blocks, that become covered by Blankets and shuffle around the screen! Concentration is key in this game mode, as finding and leaping over the pink gem is determined by your ability to keep your eye on the gem! Similarly with Dash & Slash, Hazardous Events will occur throughout the game, shuffling the pink gem and the gray blocks in a more unusual way. However, no indication will be given as to when these events may occur, so stay wary! Fill your meter by leaping over pink gems in order to use a Gem Pulse, which reveals the pink gem's location! Use it as a last resort, however, as it certainly takes 5 pink gems to accumulate!
Get the highest points you possibly can in each of these game modes, and show your friends how much of an expert Leaper you are! In addition, collect enough coins throughout each of the game modes, and you will be able to unlock 8 unique costumes!
Thank you for playing, and have fun!
