Historically great, recent update is terrible
I’ve had the WRAL app for more than a decade and never had an issue. The old interface was relatively intuitive and easy to navigate. The app itself ran smoothly. Ads have been increasingly in frequency over the last few years (I get it, we all have to pay the bills somehow) and bogged down the interface. But the update pushed down this fall has rendered the app virtually unusable. It’s way more difficult to find anything (especially the weather, which is what I’m usually looking for at a glance) and every article title links you out to the article posted on WRAL’s website, which never loads properly. I probably open this app half as frequently as I used to and rarely look at anything other than the weather.
