Aging Gracefully

I am 52 years old, male. Before I found this app I was under the impression that losing strength and mobility was just a part of getting older. As I looked around me at older folks who were having all sorts of joint, flexibility and loss of strength I realized much of that was also due to inactivity. I made the decision that I would not get sedentary just because I was getting older. I was already working a desk job, so my daily activity was already down. Coupled with my doctors firm advice that I needed to add strength training on the regular, I started to look for some sort of regimen. I stumbled across 5x5 programs in my searches and it sounded right up my alley. That led to finding the Stronglift app. It’s been almost a year now and I’m still on it. I started with the beginner program with weight that was comfortable. The 5lb approach to loading was easy and the program was flexible, easy to adjust and most of all, easy to understand. Today, I feel much better, have begun to regain a lot of that mobility and strength that I had when I was younger and even bested some previous top weights that I lifted back in the day. I have only begun to explore the other programs that are already in the app. While I don’t necessarily believe that lifting several hundreds of lbs is what I need, I like the ability to switch up the programs to challenge my abilities and mobility. Those things are what I feel are important to keep as long as I can as I get older.

App doesn’t stay active on phone

During a workout every time I go to log a set or look to future set info I have to restart the app multiple times. Three or more times the app asks if I want to start a new workout or continue the one I’m in. Why the heck can’t the app just open and work while I’m working.
