About Pocketbooth Party Photo Booth
* CUSTOMIZATION *
Personalize Pocketbooth Party to complement your event with a selection of booth skins, photo filters, and custom text. Both the photobooth skin and the photos you take can incorporate a blurb of text you create.
* PRINTING *
If you have an AirPrint printer, photos can be automatically printed as you take them -- just like a real photobooth. You can also print photos after the fact from the Gallery. Or, if you'd prefer to order professionally-printed photos, there's an option for that as well. Order single prints or the entire set of photos from your event with the click of a button. Printed photos make for a great album or thank you notes for your guests.
* SHARING *
All the photos taken can be automatically shared online so guests can view the photos from home, share them, and even order prints.
* PARTY MODE *
Once you've configured the booth to your liking, you can lock it down. Turning on Guided Access removes the configuration buttons from the interface and locks the app down so no one can fiddle with the settings or leave the app. This is especially useful if the app is running unattended.
You can pass the iPad around at your party, but we recommend finding a spot for it to live during your party. You can stand it up on a table or shelf, but the more industrious among you can mount the iPad on a wall or purchase a stand.
Use the Gallery sharing link to set up a viewing/sharing station on a separate iPad or computer. That keeps the line moving and ensures maximum participation.

How is Pocketbooth Party different from the Pocketbooth app?
Pocketbooth was designed to replicate the experience of sitting in a photobooth from the 1950s, and as such, most of the design decisions were guided and constrained by an effort to maintain the authenticity of old-school booths. With Pocketbooth Party we removed all those constraints and made design decisions based on what made the most sense in the context of a party or event. For example, photostrips created with Pocketbooth are oblong rectangles sized according to the historic size of strips. Turns out, those elongated strips are difficult to print due to their irregular shape. With Pocketbooth Party we wanted the photos to be printer-ready and as a result, they favor 4x6. We also know that at events, many guests sit for photos together and sometimes it is desirable to print photos 2-up, so a few of the formats are "double-strip" which results in two duplicate strips being printed.
Another important distinction between Pocketbooth and Pocketbooth Party is Pocketbooth Party's ability to hide all the controls when the iPad screen is locked (via Guided Access). This makes it a much better candidate to be used unattended at a party -- guests won't be tempted or able to visit other parts of the app, make changes to the settings, or mistakenly end up in another app.

Super Fun
Everyone loved this thing. 2nd holiday season using this for a family party of 30ish people. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Looking back to last years photos, I’m glad i had this. I do add lighting on a tripod and this year added a big 10x8 foot backdrop. Only negative, which is not a dealbreaker, is the 10foot wide backdrop creates distance between the camera and the people (group photo). I think this distance causing a low pixel look to the photo. This also could just be a limitation of using the iPad camera. Don’t know but it is still super fun and is now a must have for the family party.

Good for my needs
I don’t do photo booths professionally so I really only use this app for smaller family gatherings or parties that I host. It would be nice if the photo strips could have a little more customization, but it is fine for my needs. I’ve used it for several events without issues. I don’t print the images or have the individual images sent by email or anything. I usually just upload all the images to my google photos and then make an album I can share with all the friends and family I had at my event. However, last time I set up the app to use at an event, I had a major issue. All of the pictures were being inserted into the photo strip upside down. I tried putting my iPad in different camera orientations, restarted the app, restarted the device, tried to hunt around in settings for the ipad and for the app, but couldn’t find a way to fix the issue. I ended up just having to remove captions and to choose a layout with equal borders on all sides, so that the entire photo strip would look fine once manually rotated in my photo gallery. It was a solution that worked, but since the event was a family reunion, it wasn’t really happy that I had to remove captions from the photo strip so things looked like the proper orientation. I have used this app for several events and have never had an issue with photos being inserted incorrectly, however this was my first time using my new, so maybe the camera position is causing issues? I don’t know. I hope I can continue to use this app.
