The AIAA Aerospace Design Engineers Guide (ADEG) is an authoritative resource for use by aerospace students and professionals during design inception and development.
Now in its first electronic edition, the ADEG app provides quick, convenient everyday reference from your mobile device. Its role is to serve as a specialized-purpose, in-field tool used by design engineers to perform back-of-the-envelope/rough-order-of-magnitude estimates and calculations for early preliminary and conceptual aerospace design. The ADEG app is not intended to be relied upon for producing highly detailed production designs, although some of the design data may be suitable for the designer’s objectives.
HOW TO USE THIS APP
NOTES
The app allows users to create and save notes. To create a note, tap and hold over a specific word or sentence (must be text). A pop-up menu will appear. Choose “Add Notes” to add a note. To retrieve or update an existing note, go to the Notes section on the app’s homepage. Choose the specific category and tap on the “Notes” icon that appears with the associated text to read/update. Notes will not work when trying to apply a note to an image. Images can be tables, formulas or graphs.
BOOKMARKS
The app allows you to bookmark specific pages. To bookmark a page, tap the star icon at the top of that page. To retrieve bookmarked pages, go to the Bookmark section on the app’s homepage.
IMAGES
Images (tables, graphs and formulas) can be magnified by tapping on the image (a new window will open) and using Apple’s pinch-to-zoom functionality.
