BigT's is a family-run business founded in the early 2000s. Co-founder Ernestina Kotey discovered her passion for cooking at the age of 13 when she began cooking for her whole family. Ernestina's career in catering grew rapidly over the years in which she would cater for private functions and large gatherings. In 1998 she advanced her cooking skills professionally by acquiring prestigious qualifications in the catering industry. Ernestina became very popular in her local community by providing a range of catering services for the Afro-Caribbean community where she would cook for as little as 50 people up to 1,000! Without a doubt, her career advanced even further when an opportunity arose to take over a restaurant and bar business based in Walthamstow that she had previously helped a friend manage. By 2011, Ernestina Kotey, now a brand known as Big T's, had become very popular in the Afro-Caribbean community across London, Kent, and Essex and started creating attractions in other cultural communities.
