FeelUS renders vibrations (iPhone) or audible feedback (iPad) to your photos to display them in your mind. It detects the edges of an object and adjusts the vibration or audio intensity accordingly when the edges are touched. Vibration and audio intensity will depend on the thickness of the edges to help imagine its texture.
FeelUS supports full voice navigation to help visually impaired people, but it is also helpful for anyone who wants to feel their photos.
1. When FeelUS is opened, it will ask permission to access photos, which needs to be allowed to load photos in FeelUS.
2. Swiping left and right will navigate through photos.
3. Swiping down will change the display mode to either edge view or game view.
a. Edge view will show detected edges to control vibration or audio intensity.
b. Game view will hide the photos so the user can guess the image by sensing vibration or audio patterns.
4. Swiping up will provide audible hints with the date the photo was taken and object keywords detected by artificial intelligence to help the user guess the photo.
