A spirit level, bubble level is a tool designed to indicate whether a surface incline is horizontal or vertical (plumb). Different types of bubble or spirit levels may be used by carpenters, stonemasons, bricklayers and surveyors to take measurement of the incline of an object. Hold against a target to measure its incline for level or plumb, or lay it down on a flat surface for a 360° level measurement.
