About Experience Book Tower
Bedrock is proud to introduce the Experience Book Tower augmented reality app. Take a trip on this first-of-its-kind augmented reality tour through one of Detroit's most iconic buildings. Within this app you will be able to uncover the story of Book Tower from its history through the restoration, explore The Rotunda – Book Tower’s crown jewel, and view the thoughtfully curated art collection.
Commissioned by the Book brothers, Book Tower was designed by architect Louis Kamper to transform Washington Boulevard into an upscale and fashionable intersection of Detroit. When it opened in 1926, it was the tallest structure in the city at 38-stories, designed with Roman-influenced intricacies and sparkling interiors that featured shopping and offices. Today, Book Tower is an instantly recognizable landmark with its copper roof standing out on Detroit’s skyline and inviting visitors to live, work, dine, celebrate and stay once again.
Bedrock has developed this application in partnership with a number of organizations including Unity Technologies, Detroit Historical Society, Kraemer Design Group and ODA Architecture.
