Solves some problems, creates new problems
All previous reviews (and perfect reviews, by the way, that utilize exactly the same language) praise the CONCEPT only. After being a seller for several months, I have a few issues. The concept is nice in theory. I got tired of selling things on Facebook, since it involved fielding questions, planning meet ups, and having no shows. The public meeting ground of a local business (with their small commission) is great. But now that we’ve inserted a middleman (that is, ShopXchange), there are issues. I recently had a buyer not pick up in time. I got an email that ShopXchange “spoke with the buyer” and extended their time. No indication of to what. Then I got a follow-up that I failed to “retrieve my item.” When I sent an inquiry (twice) to the support email… no response in two business days. You can’t insert yourself as the middleman, then fail to provide service AS the middleman. Additionally, listing items is worse than other comparable sites. There is no text correction or any features to auto-save your details. (For instance, it would be great to auto-save my favorite locations.) Sellers pay 26% in fees. Buyers pay tax. (And by the way, the local used bookstore doesn’t charge tax on used books, because state law doesn’t require that.) Overall, ShopXchange solved some problems, but also created new ones. They need to respond to their email inquiries in time, and update the app to have auto-correct and easier listings.

Great way to shop locally!
I love the ability to buy and support local businesses. The app is very simple and easy to use as well.
