the only real reviews are the 1-star ones

i actually tries this app myself to see what the deal was. turns out it’s as bad as all the real people in the reviews say. not only does the app charge you a subscription to use some a.i. slop to help you learn one of two languages, but it also pulls something even more devious. all the reviews are for an app called “fluenty,” another language learning app. so to try to make the reviews seem legit, they gave their a.i. character the name “fluenty,” which is probably the most desperate and degenerate attempt at relevancy i’ve ever seen. strongly suggest reporting this app.

Worthless AI cash grab

The fact that the top “5-Star” reviews were written for a completely different app should have been a red flag if I had looked at the reviews before downloading. App offers only two languages, English and Spanish with a variety of native language support. But that’s where it starts getting bad. The “first lesson” made no sense why a new learner would start there. In that first lesson it asked me to pick the correct translation of “anoche” from two possible answers of “Last Night” or “Last Night”. I got it wrong because I picked last night when the correct answer was last night. (Yes, you read that right.) Shortly after that, it asked me to translate a sentence that was half written in Spanish and half written in Chinese. Don’t know about you, but random Chinese words (written in 汉字) are not useful to me as a native English speaker trying to learn Spanish. And the ad promoting the casual conversation with their AI bot helping and correcting you as you go does not live up to the expectation. The language lessons are probably generated by AI, the whole app is just a rush to grab people’s money by promising them the AI future. They deserve less of your time then it takes to read this review.
