About Lomi – Habesha Cultural Circle
Lomi – Habesha Community Engagement Platform
The very first thing that sets Lomi apart is our strict zero-tolerance policy toward sexual advances or inappropriate behavior—any such action will result in a permanent ban. This is non-negotiable.
We are not building an app where people swipe for sexual interest—we’re building a platform rooted in community, trust, and shared values. Lomi exists to bring the Habesha community together in a respectful, uplifting, and culturally rich environment.
Users are encouraged to join our monthly in-person and virtual gatherings, where real connections are formed through culture, language, and shared experiences—not surface-level interactions.
Lomi is a safe and intentional space designed to strengthen the bonds within the global Ethiopian and Eritrean community. It’s a place where users can practice their language, celebrate their heritage, discuss challenges, explore professional interests, and connect in meaningful ways—without fear of harassment or misuse.
We’re here to uplift one another, and that starts by protecting the space we all share. Lomi is for genuine engagement, not for casual encounters. This is how we build trust—and community that lasts.
The Ethiopian and Eritrean (Habesha) community is spread across the globe, with tens of thousands living in the United States alone. Over time, staying connected has become a challenge—and that's the gap Lomi is here to bridge.
Lomi is more than just an app—it's a space designed to strengthen our cultural bonds, celebrate our heritage, and build meaningful connections across generations and geographies.
Use this app to share about our culture, practice your language, and express your interests in all things related to Ethiopian and Eritrean identity. But it doesn’t stop there—Lomi is also a space where we can discuss our shared challenges, celebrate professional growth, and connect beyond origin, in ways that truly uplift our community. Everyone is welcome here.
Rooted in the symbolic gesture of tossing a lemon (lomi) to spark a joyful exchange, our name reflects the playful spirit and warmth that lives within our community.
For over a year, we’ve also been hosting real-life Lomi community engagement events, creating safe, welcoming spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and cultural celebration.
Whether you're looking to share knowledge, support others, attend events, or stay connected with your roots, Lomi is where the Habesha community comes together—across cities, countries, and continents.
