About Deaf Lingo

Deaf Lingo – Learn ASL with Real-Time Feedback
Deaf Lingo is a sign language learning app that uses computer vision to teach you American Sign Language (ASL) in a truly hands-on way. Go through structured lessons covering a wide range of signs, from everyday basics to more advanced vocabulary.

When you're ready to level up, hop into Playground Mode—a fast-paced, interactive experience where you sign words as they're prompted, just like a typing test but for ASL. You'll get real-time feedback and a Signs Per Minute (SPM) score to track your speed and accuracy.

Whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, Deaf Lingo makes learning ASL engaging, visual, and responsive to your progress.

Problem

This is a wonderful app, I love the design. But when it asked me to sign the word done, I knew how to , and when it didn’t register, I clicked the how to sign it button, but it didn’t do anything. So when I tried another lesson, It didn’t do the same thing. It doesn’t work for me.

This app changed my life

I am a lonely person. For years, it has been me and my dog, Joseph, all on our own. I lost all confidence in talking to people. I could hardly form words out of nervousness. I never thought I’d experience real connection again. Then, I found this app. The easy to learn daily lessons are addictive in the best way possible. In no time, I was a signing pro. Of course, this did not help relieve my social anxiety. But it did reveal something I had been missing, right under my nose. My dog Joseph had always waved his paws in a strange way when we were alone. Now I understand why. He was trying to communicate with me. Joseph told me he loved me. I told him I loved him. I never knew what I was looking for was with me all along. Now Joseph and I have entered a loving relationship full of affection and loyalty. And I have Lane Burgett to thank, for opening my eyes to possibilities I could have never considered. Thank you Lane Burgett.
