About Shoreline Defender™
By combining topographic elevation with bathymetric coastal profiles and real-time tidal inputs, the app dynamically forecasts the Mean High Water Line (MHWL)—the legal boundary for public access in many coastal states.
Whether you’re a visitor, planner, enforcement official, or civic investor, Shoreline Defender™ delivers precision-grade clarity in a mobile-first experience.
Key Capabilities:
• Forecasted Access Boundaries
View modeled estimates of the likely public shoreline boundary using NOAA tide gauges and verified coastal slope data.
• Predictive Tidal Mapping
See how access is expected to expand or contract with tidal changes over the next several hours.
• Color-Coded Access Zones
Instantly understand which areas of the beach are more likely to be public under current and forecasted conditions.
 Augmented Reality View (AR)
Use your phone’s camera to see a live visual overlay of the modeled shoreline boundary—mapped directly onto the sand in front of you.
Built For:
• Coastal Visitors & Residents seeking clarity and compliance
• Local Governments & Enforcement Agencies supporting coastal access rights
• Attorneys & Investigators referencing forecasted boundaries
• Planners, Researchers & NGOs monitoring shoreline change
• Civic Tech Investors supporting scalable public-interest infrastructure tools
Why It Matters:
In many coastal states, the public’s legal right to access the beach extends to the mean high water line. But without tools to forecast where that line likely falls, public access, enforcement, and stewardship remain unclear.
Shoreline Defender™ provides clarity—not confrontation.
It does not determine legal property boundaries.
It does not provide legal advice.
It offers a science-based forecast of where public access is most likely supported under current tidal conditions.
Technology Stack:
• Live NOAA tide station integration
• Topo-bathymetric shoreline modeling—combining land elevation and underwater depth for forecast accuracy
• Patent-pending geospatial forecasting engine
• Verified coastal slope datasets and MHWL reference zones
• Augmented Reality (AR) shoreline projection for real-time, on-site visualization
Shoreline Defender™ is the first tool of its kind—bringing transparency, accountability, and trust to coastal access.
This tool is for informational and planning purposes only and is not a legal survey or property boundary determination.

Not working

Not really accurate
Doesn’t take into account some beaches use the ECL to define private and public. Misleading and could perversely imply rights to private landowners that they don’t have.
