About Dialogue With The Monster
As a child: the certainty something lived in your closet. The shadow-shape watching from the hallway. The absolute knowledge that if you didn't pull your feet under the covers, something would grab your ankle.
As an adult: that crawling sensation when you're alone. The feeling of being observed through windows. The presence that makes you check behind the shower curtain even though you know nothing's there.
You learned to ignore it. To call it imagination, paranoia, anxiety.
But what if it was real the whole time?
Tonight, the door stands open. And in that darkness, something speaks.
Key Features:
Conversation-Driven Horror: Your words are your only tools in this battle of minds and wills
Multiple Branching Paths: Each choice fundamentally alters how the entity perceives and responds to you
Psychological Depth: Explore themes of isolation, manipulation, and the human need for genuine connection
Multiple Endings: Your conversational choices lead to dramatically different conclusions
Atmospheric Storytelling: Experience horror through mood, tension, and unsettling dialogue rather than jump scares
The entity in your home doesn't want to harm you—it wants something far more precious. It wants to be understood. It wants to understand you. And it has all the time in the world to convince you that what it's offering is exactly what you've been missing.
What will you say when the darkness speaks to you?

Shadow Work in an foreboding, text based game
THIS WAS AMAZING. Showed up like synchronicity, at the perfect timing. You managed to strike the balance between enough new content, while still sticking to the purpose of this creation. I love how you can learn from each decision you make to better understand the shadow self (Carl Jung identified it; the parts of us we push aside,) but you can still see certain parts of previous choices. It all makes sense the more you replay it. The music was what drew me in the most. As an electronic music producer myself, this was well done. A dark, minimal approach with just a droning pad, and a 2 simple sounds. The breath of the monster…AAAHH it creates a perfect atmosphere. Really glad this is free and runs on macOS! Would love to see more from you!
