You can say it in French!
FranceTerme gives you access to over 7,000 French terms for new concepts and innovations. They are proposed by experts in a wide range of specialised fields (economy and finance, environment, health, sport, culture, computer science, transport…), who are associated with the official organisation for the enrichment of the French language.
Whether it is straightforward like financement participatif [crowdfunding], or more complicated like anaérocombustion [chemical looping combustion], each term is presented with its definition and equivalent in a foreign language (usually English).
This free app is a precious aid if you want to write or translate an article, a memorandum, specifications, a commercial proposal, or any other document.
You can also use it to suggest new technical terms, which will be submitted to the experts in the appropriate field.
Once installed, the app can be used without Internet connection.
A connection is required for regular updates of the FranceTerme data.
The application is supported by the Délégation générale à la langue française et aux langues de France (Ministry of Culture and Communication). It is developed and published by Sépage using FranceTerme data available in open source on the website data.gouv.fr.
