Trans-Americana is a mix between a videogame and a productivity app.
The point of it is to help students acheive better grades while playing a videogame, which incorporates real-life elements. The Trans-Americana is a virtual race between San Francisco, CA, and New York City, NY. The "pilot" (user of the application) uses his notes to obtain points which will allow him to beat other pilots, and to climb in the scoreboard. The "pilot" has as main objective to be the first at New York City, to win the Trans-Americana.
The better the grades the "pilot" gets, the more points he acquires, if he obtains a grade unter the equivalent of a 14/20, he loses 0.5 points on the scoreboard, letting some other pilots overtaking him.
The "pilot" is then pushed to get better grades to beat the other pilots.
An online feature allows the user to play against up to three of their friends.
