What is a Catholic Bible like?
Catholic Bibles follow the Catholic canon or set of books (containing 73 books).

The Jews had two canons, the short canon of Palestine, written in Hebrew of 39 books, and the long canon of Alexandria, written in Greek, of 46 books. The latter was used by Jews who lived outside of Israel and who no longer spoke Hebrew.

The seven books that are included in the long canon are called deuterocanonical (new to the canon), which are: Judith, Tobias, I Maccabees, II Maccabees, Baruch, Daniel, Esther.

Christians always used this long canon.

The Jews, to differentiate themselves from the Christians, in the second century AD. They adopted the short canon which is the one we can find in the Jewish Bibles.
