Kamaluddin Ali Mohtasham Kashani was born in 905 AH in Kashan. His education began in the same city and he learned the science of the time. His father was a goat. In his youth he continued his father's work, but soon afterwards he changed his mind to become a poet and his name was raised and he came to the court of the second king of the Safavid dynasty and admired him.
The Safavid kings were Shiite promoters, so poets paid tribute to the Ahlul-Bayt. Mohtasham also turned into a soliloquy and became the most famous soliloquy in Iran. He corresponded with the savage poet of his time.
Mohtasham lived a long life and spent most of it in Kashan, eventually dying in the same city in 996 AH and was buried in the same city.
The Tomb of the Mohtasham is a shrine in the Mohtasham neighborhood and a prize is given to him every year.
