Mirza Mohammad Ali, now known as Saeb Tabrizi, was born around 970 in the city of Isfahan at the end of the first millennium AH.
He belonged to a family of Tabriz merchants who, on the orders of King Abbas I of Safavid, migrated from Tabriz to Isfahan, residing in the Abbas Abad neighborhood of that city, whose inhabitants were mostly Tabrizi immigrants.
Mirza Mohammed Ali graduated from Isfahan and began his pilgrimage as a youth, from there to Mashhad, from there to Herat, Kabul, and India, spending most of his middle age in India.
He returned to Iran in the middle of the first century of the second millennium around 1040 and settled in Isfahan and was nicknamed the Ash'arite king by King Abbas II of Safavid.
Saeb was buried in his hometown of Isfahan in his 80s and his body was buried in today's Saeb Street neighborhood of Lebanon.
We have many poems from Saeb Tabrizi. He was a sonnet and he wrote several sonnets in Turkish. Saeb's poetry style has been called the Indian style and he is regarded as the god of this style.
And more importantly, Saeb is also a poet of singles.
