2019 is the year of the National Meeting of the Portuguese Chemical Society. The XXVI Meeting will take place at the University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences, July 24-26, 2019. Given that 2019 is the international year of the periodic table, this meeting has as its motto the “Periodic Table” being highlight the following topics:
1. The Periodic Table and the Elements of Life (health, diet and environment)
2. Luminescent Periodic Table (materials, energy and nanotechnology)
3. The Periodic Table in the Classroom (communication, culture and teaching)
Thus, as President of SPQ and organizer of the meeting, all members of the National Chemistry community are invited to participate in this Meeting and to honor the Periodic Table.
Together with SPQ divisions and groups we are working on a scientific program of excellence and challenging in terms of new areas of chemistry and trends. For this we already have a range of foreign speakers of recognized merit to which will be joined national speakers who have excelled in their research areas.
This meeting is expected to bring together researchers from different fields of chemistry knowledge, from senior scientists to young scientists, to discuss and share their latest achievements in an inspiring and welcoming environment.
It will also be an excellent opportunity to enjoy the charming city of Porto, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and to enjoy the good hospitality of the people of this city. Come and celebrate the “Periodic Table” at the XXVI SPQ Meeting.
