With few financial resources at the beginning, but a lot of dedication and solidarity from people who promptly connected to the idea, on January 5, 1988, the Support Group for Children with Cancer - Bahia was created, known nationally by the acronym GACC-BA. Voluntary adherence continued to grow beyond expectations as the news spread.
Inaugurated on July 14, 2000, the current headquarters was built in a small town to an Atlantic Forest reserve, the building has a built area of 4,200 m², on five floors, and has 50 apartments with private toilets, making a total of 110 beds, and facilities designed for the best performance of the services that the GACC-BA offers.
