About the BMI Calculator
The BMI Calculator is designed to make it easy. Calculating BMI manually takes time. Filling in some information in the calculator and clicking on calculate you get quickly and accurately:

BMI - Factors influencing accuracy
There are some problems with using just the BMI Body Mass Index to determine if a person is overweight:

- Muscular people may have a high Body Mass Index and not be fat
- Women tend to have more body fat than men
- Racial and ethnic differences can influence the calculation of BMI (still being studied by the WHO)
- Blacks have less body fat than whites
- Asians have more body fat than whites
