For many students, breathing is synonymous with gas exchange. For others, they have little understanding of where breathing is taking place. They generally mention the lung, gills, tracheae, leaves, roots and the processes in animals and plants are confused. Another difficulty is the one that comes from the use of the terms respiration, ventilation and gas exchange in an equivalent and indiscriminate way, observed both in the process of instruction, models, or textbooks; As a consequence, students tend to think that respiration is synonymous with gas exchange, and the function of the diaphragm is the main one in the process. In this sequence of teaching and learning with the inclusion of augmented reality, we seek to present and show new perspectives and manipulable images that enrich and strengthen students' explanations of this vital phenomenon.
