This is a demo of the app Simple Scorekeeper (Baseball/Softball) designed to allow you to try out all the functionality of the full app. Be sure to try out the player stats functionality in addition to just keeping score. This version limits users to scoring 2 games.
Tired of not knowing what the score is at your kid's games when there's no scoreboard? Or do you want to easily track your kid's stats without the pain of doing a scorebook for each game and then having to manually tally everything after each game? If so, then Simple Scorekeeper is the app for you! Here is a really easy and fun-to-use app to track the game's score and whatever player stats you want on your phone or tablet. Simply tap the O to record an out or tap home plate to record a run. It's all shown on a traditional inning-by-inning scoreboard. Swipe back to reveal earlier innings. Tap on any previous inning to make any necessary score corrections. The app is high-contrast and uses large fonts to make it visible even on bright, sunny days.
But this app does so much more than simply keep score. If you choose, it will automatically track your team's win-loss record. Just create a season, in that season create your team and any opposing teams as you play them, then select those teams when you start to keep score of each game. After the game, the Stats button will reveal the teams' win-loss records for this season or any other seasons you scored from months / years past. If you use the exact same team name season over season, year over year, the app will track that team's win-loss records across the seasons. (You can easily edit team names to make them match across seasons after the fact if necessary.)
More than that, you can track player stats of one or more players if you choose. Tap "My Player" from within a season game to create a player and specify which team they are on. Then you can track batting and offensive stats, pitching stats, and fielding stats by tapping "My Player" and then swiping UP on whatever stat button that corresponds to what they did. Swipe DOWN to decrease a stat by 1 to make corrections. Tap any stat button to see what the abbreviation stands for and how that stat is defined. If one of your players is pitching, select them as the pitcher on the Scoreboard screen when they're pitching. Then you'll be prompted to specify things like strike outs, earned runs, hits allowed and walks allowed. For fielding, specify what position they are playing to track their fielding averages broken out over the various positions they play or you can view overall fielding stats. For little league players, when you're just happy they stopped the ball or actually threw the ball to the right base even if they didn't get a put out, you can award your player a "good play" stat. There is a related "bad play" stat for mistakes that don't rise to the level of a true Error. (A real Error requires that the batting team gained a base or an extended at bat from the mistake.) A "new" stat called the "Good Play Percentage" incorporates both "good/bad play" stats with real defensive stats (i.e. put outs, assists, errors) and can show your player's defensive skills progress over the years. All these fielding, pitching and batting/offensive stats can be displayed by player, by team, by position, by season, by career, all shown in a traditional "baseball card" format. Take frequent screenshots of the baseball card screen to share or keep for posterity.
If stat tracking is more than you care to do, the app works perfectly well as a simple runs and outs counter. If you don't create a season, you can still keep score for a game, just runs and outs, no other stats. You can tap a team's name to edit their name and color.
