The book of Nehemiah describes Nehemiah's work in motivating the people of Jerusalem to rebuild the walls that protected the city against invading enemies. The book also shows Nehemiah's concern to protect the people against an even greater threat, while working to eliminate the evil influences that corrupted them from among the Jews.
