The Ski and Football Club Lyn is one of the nation's oldest football clubs, and one of the most successful and significant in Norwegian football history, with the founding date March 3, 1896. Lightning has won NM 8 times and the series 2 times. In the winter of 1969, Lyn played as the first Norwegian club in the history of quarter-finals in the European Cup, which ended with a very honest and hard-won loss for Barcelona itself.
