Nationally the forerunner to the Advocate Organization in Indonesia only appeared in 1963 or eighteen years after Indonesia's independence was proclaimed. Starting with the formation of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PAI) on March 14, 1963 in Jakarta, the National Law Seminar was held.
