Beneluxlaan - Woerden

The Municipality of Woerden is developing the Snellerpoort area and is preparing for the construction of 800 homes. Also, 100 apartments and a supermarket are being built close to the shopping center. These developments require adjustments to the existing roads and bicycle paths, so that Snellerpoort will soon connect well with the existing neighbourhood.

The municipality is tackling these changes in 4 subprojects.
- Construction Beneluxlaan: The municipality is building a road around Snellerpoort, along the railway. This will be the new Beneluxlaan.

- Redevelopment of the Steinhagenseweg: The part of the Steinhagenseweg that is no longer used by traffic after the construction of the new Beneluxlaan will be redesigned as a green pedestrian promenade.

- Cycle through route: In addition to the new Beneluxlaan, we are constructing part of the express cycle route in collaboration with the province of Utrecht: the part from the station area in Woerden to Veldwijk.

- Grade-separated intersection: To improve the traffic flow and the safety of cyclists, we are constructing a grade-separated intersection as an extension of the Jan Ruijspad.
