💚💚 Some Insect Characteristics
Insects exist in a variety of sizes, shapes, colours, and patterns, but they all have three basic bodily parts: the head, thorax, and abdomen. They have three pairs of legs, each of which is linked to one thorax segment.
💚💚 Insects lack a backbone, but they do have a hard outer shell called an exoskeleton, which is comprised of chitin, a material that is both light and tough, making it ideal for these tiny creatures of God.
💚💚 Insects go through a complete or incomplete metamorphosis as part of their life cycle. Insects that go through a complete metamorphosis, such as flies, beetles, and butterflies, move from egg through larva to adult, emerging from a pupa.
💚💚 Insects that undergo partial metamorphosis go through instars, which are stages in which they shed their skin. Grasshoppers, mantises, dragonflies, cockroaches, and bugs are among them.
