About Santa Biblia NVI en Español
The New International Version has its origins in a modern translation project of the National Association of Evangelicals of the USA in 1957.
In 1967, Biblica assumed responsibility for the project and hired a team of 15 experts from various evangelical Christian denominations and from various countries to translate the oldest manuscripts.
The New Testament was published in 1973 by Zondervan in the United States, and the complete Bible in 1978.
A Spanish translation was published in 1999, followed by a Portuguese translation in 2001.
In 2013, the New International Version is one of the most widely distributed versions of the Bible, more than 450 million copies of its English translation alone have been sold.
